Mrs. Sherry Savage

Hello! My name is Mrs. Savage and this is my 23rd year teaching. I have taught numerous grade K-5, been an instructional coach, and taught in a dual-immersion program, but third grade is my favorite by far. I’ve been married to my husband, Justin, for 21 years and have 2 children; Jackson and Emily. I've been teaching in Habersham County for the past 14 years and taught in Hall County for the first nine years of my teaching career.

I attended North Georgia College and  State University  where I earned a master’s degree  in Early Childhood Education. I also have a specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College and am gifted endorsed.

My philosophy is that children work harder when there is a level of mutual respect. I have high expectations for my students and feel that students will put in effort when they feel valued and have goals that are attainable.  My goal is to foster a love of learning, create an environment where students are engaged, and an atmosphere where your child's interests and learning style is embraced.  My intent is for students to leave third grade feeling empowered as a learner, confident enough to take risks, and having grown both socially, emotionally, and academically. It's true that students will RISE to the challenge when they are set up for success and supported by all invested parties!
