Betty Simpson

My name is Betty Simpson (aka as Mrs. Betty).  I am a lifetime Habersham County resident. I have been married to Ken Simpson since 1989 and we have a 16 year old daughter, Mandi. I began my "education" at Hazel Grove Elementary then continued on to graduate from Habersham Central in 1980.  I pursued an Accounting and Business Administration double major from Piedmont College where I graduated in 1983.  I began working at Habersham Electric in 1984 in the accounting department where I continued until my retirement there in April 2014.  Due to a love for children, after many years of teaching pre-school children at my church, I followed my retirement from HEMC, with substituting at the local schools in Habersham County.  This allowed me to be on my daughter's schedule who was 5 years old at the time and started kindergarten in the Fall of 2014. What began as substituting, led to a full time position as Para Pro in PE at HGES, which continues to be a blessing in my life.  I'm so thankful to share daily in the lives of these children.
