Mrs. Sherry Savage

Hello! My name is Mrs. Savage and this is my 18th year teaching. I’ve previously taught grades K, 2-4 and was previously an instructional coach for 6  years.  I’ve been married to my husband, Justin, for 17 years and have 2 children; Jackson and Emily.  I'm a native of Braselton, but moved to this community in 2008 to be near family and love it. I've been teaching in Habersham for the past 10 years and previously taught in Hall County.

I attended North Georgia College and  State University  where I earned a master’s degree  in Early Childhood Education. I also have a specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College and am gifted certified.

My philosophy is that children work harder when they feel you are invested in them.  I believe in positive reinforcement and consequences. I have high expectations for my students and expect their best effort academically and socially.  My goal is for your child to become an independent learner, take risks, enjoy learning along the way.  I expect every child to value one another and encourage each other as we grow together.  I want to nurture each student’s interests and learning style while introducing them to new information and modes of learning. When teaching, I believe in the power of not "yet".
